Town permitted 76 new homes

There was a burst of activity at the Wake Forest Inspections Department during June with 76 new homes permitted – 57 single-family homes, 17 townhouses and one duplex – but there was little activity on the commercial side with only pre-occupancy inspections for three businesses – Wake Forest Hobby ad 214 East Jones Avenue, Integrity Motors at 10024 Capital Boulevard and Bethany Community Church at 1225 South Main Street.

Readers will probably see the new prefabricated building at the corner of South White Street and East Holding Avenue but facing East Holding. It is to be the new storage building for Tri-Area Ministry Food Pantry across the street, and the fees totaled $170.

Five of the townhouses will be built by Dan Ryan Builders at 1402 to 1410 Montonia Street in the Richland Hills subdivision and Wilson Parker Homes will build 12 townhouses at 500 to 526 Retreat Lane in the Traditions subdivision. The total fees paid for the 17 townhouses was $79,584.75 and the new homes will add an estimated $1,404,315 to the town’s tax base.

Through June, the town has permitted 280 new homes of all types, single-family, townhouse and duplex.
