WFHS Juniorettes ask for fundraising help

During their March 16 general meeting at school, the Wake Forest High School Juniorettes made posters to put up at school to advertise an April 6 fundraiser (4 to 8 p.m. at Chipotle Mexican Grill, 11700 Retail Drive, Wake Forest) to raise money for Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) Teacher Grants at the school.

The Juniorettes’ faculty advisor, Helen Owens, explained how PTSA money has purchased matching navy-blue tops/pants with the school’s embroidered name on them for her student interns to wear at work. As a class requirement, the interns work several hours per week in two local pre-schools. The matching scrubs help to make the student interns look professional on the job.

PTSA Teacher Grants have funded many other supplemental requests for teachers at the school: books, software, storage bins, a garment rack, kitchen supplies, arts supplies, a microwave oven, a digital camera, and more.

Fundraiser details: Order Chipotle food online at the Wake Forest restaurant’s location and use the promo code J9KJ278 at Checkout. Pick up your food order, packaged and labeled with your name, inside the restaurant at the appointed time. The Juniorettes will earn 33% of supporters’ money spent for event sales placed and paid for within the 4 to 8 p.m. time. The Juniorettes will donate the money to the PTSA for Teacher Grants.

Juniorette co-advisors are Wake Forest Woman’s Club members Marilyn Bonnett, Sue Meehan, LaRoyce Stringer, and Susan Goodman.
