Builders are certainly not giving up on Wake Forest. In October they pulled permits for 137 new homes – 84 senior apartments, 23 townhouses and 30 single-family homes.
At a conservative 2.5 people per household, that is 343 new town residents who will move in during the next 10 to 12 months.
Evergreen Construction Company of Raleigh was issued a permit for the Huntington Senior Apartments at 1887 South Franklin Street. There will be 84 units. The improvement value is listed at $5,326,268, the builders paid fees of $310.459.24 and the structure will have 94,874 square feet. No rezoning was necessary.
Dan Ryan Builders has permits for six townhouses from 111 Deacon Ridge Street to 121 Deacon Ridge Street in the Avondale subdivision near downtown Wake Forest. That same company is building 11 townhouses in the Shearon Farms subdivision on new streets, Basil Street and Ginger Drive. Heritage Spring LLC will build two townhouses on Golden Poppy Court in Heritage South, and CH Construction of NCN will build four townhouses on Winter Wren Circle in the cluster of senior housing at Caveness Farm Apartments. The 23 units will add over $2 million to the town’s tax base.
