Area residents interested in applying to serve on the new Cultural Resources and Technology Advisory Boards have until Friday, Nov. 14, to submit their applications.
The Cultural Resources Advisory Board will advise the board of commissioners and town staff on initiatives, programs and services related to the town’s cultural arts programming. Members will serve as advocates to the community and the commissioners in promoting cultural arts programs and initiatives throughout Wake Forest.
The Technology Advisory Board will offer advice concerning matters of technology with members serving as advocates in promoting the effective use of technology in town processes and initiatives.
Both boards will consist of nine members appointed by the board of commissioners from a list of applicants who have submitted an advisory board application. Applications are available in the town clerk’s office at town hall, on the town’s website and here.
Completed applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, and should be mailed or delivered to Town Clerk Deeda Harris, Town of Wake Forest, 301 S. Brooks Street., Wake Forest, NC 27587.
Both residents and non-residents of Wake Forest are eligible to apply.
Applicants will be invited to introduce themselves during the board of commissioners work session on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 5:30 p.m. The board will then announce the appointments during its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m.
The Cultural Resources and Technology Advisory Boards will begin meeting in January. Members on both boards will serve three-year staggered terms with three members to be appointed or reappointed each year.
