Perfect pie pumpkins are ready at the market

It’s not too early to think about the Thanksgiving feast and maybe practice up on your pie-making techniques by making an early pumpkin pie. You will find the ideal sized pumpkin at the Wake Forest Farmers Market.

Come and browse through the market, open from 8 a.m. to noon, in its new location in Renaissance Plaza where East Elm Avenue meets Brooks Street.

If you are ready to redecorate your front porch or yard for fall you will find mums in a rainbow of colors, corn stalks, perennial plants and pumpkins. You will also find house plants, handmade jewelry, ostrich feathers, hand-knit baby hats, neck scarves and gloves, soaps, lotions, honey, micro greens, baked goods including gluten-free baked goods, pansies and perennial plants, fresh cut flowers and dried flower wreaths, along with a wide variety of meats – beef, chicken, pork, lamb, turkey, rabbit and goat – and fresh local produce in season.

This week’s music will be provided by Dry Bread Road. Remember the market does not pay the musicians, so leave a few dollars in the tip jar.

See the market on Facebook, take a look at all the vendors and their wares as well as special events at www.wakeforestfarmersmarket.org or call 919-671-9269 if you need information.
