Registration is underway for the Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department’s fall programming. The PRCR is making it easier than ever to register for programs and classes by implementing onsite registration at all the department’s staffed facilities.
Now anyone interested in signing up for any PRCR program or class may register during normal business hours at the Wake Forest Town Hall, 301 South Brooks Street.; Flaherty Park Community Center, 1226 North White Street.; and Alston-Massenburg Center, 416 North Taylor Street.
The Wake Forest Town Hall is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Flaherty Park Community Center is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sundays from 1 to 5 pm. The Alston Massenburg Center is open Monday to Friday from 2 to 8 p.m.; Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m.
Online registration will remain available 24-hours a day. Go to the town’s website, www.wakeforestnc.gov, select “Departments,” and on the right-hand side select the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department. Once there, go to the right-hand side to select online registration. You will have to set up an account with quite a bit of information.
For years participants were required to register at the PRCR facility offering the particular class or program. The new onsite registration process is designed to make enrolling in PRCR programs easier and more convenient.
“Our citizens have voiced their concerns about the inconvenience of going from site to site to register for our programs and activities,” said PRCR Director Ruben Wall.
“Programs Superintendent Monica Lileton accepted the challenge of addressing these concerns and developed a new process that will allow patrons to register for any of our programs at the facility that’s most convenient for them.”
