Office building and 34 homes permitted

Moffat Pipe Inc. (MFI), which specializes in laying underground pipe for cities, counties and the Department of Transportation, along with others, is building a second large building in the South Forest Business Park which was built to encourage businesses and industry in locating in the town.

Focus Design Builders has the contract to build the almost-10,000 square foot building at 4901 Unicon Drive. The first Moffat building is at 2708 Connector Drive in South Forest. The new building should add over $1 million to the tax base, and Focus Design paid $23,406.83 in fees to the town.

Also during November, home builders paid $167,325.41 in fees averaging $7,275.02 for the 34 new homes permitted for several subdivisions.
