Susie B. Craven

Susie Blythe Craven, 72, died November 16, 2015, surrounded by her loving family after a three-month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Susie was born October 3, 1943, in Florence, South Carolina, to Jay and Betsy Chapman. She graduated from McClenaghan High School in Florence and attended Atlantic Christian College (now Barton College) in Wilson.
After marriage, she lived in Florence, Marion and Columbia, South Carolina, before moving to Roswell, Georgia, in the early 1980s. She lived briefly in Folly Beach, South Carolina, and has lived in Lawrenceville since 1998.
She is survived by her children: daughter, Barrie Kirk and her husband, Jack, of Columbia, South Carolina; sons, Steve Blythe of Lawrenceville and David Blythe and his wife, Shannon, of Fairhope, Alabama; her grandchildren, Taylor Kirk of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Claire, Sophie and Preston Blythe of Fairhope; her sister, Carol Smith of Wake Forest; her niece, Lauren Smith of Greensboro; her nephew, Stuart Smith and his wife, Karen, of Arden, and her great-nephew, Brendan Smith of Arden. She is also survived by several aunts and cousins and the father of her children, Bill Blythe of Columbia. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Larry Craven, and her brother-in-law, Frank Smith. She also leaves behind a devoted circle of friends who rallied around her and her family during her illness.
Although cancer robbed her body of its strength, her love of life and her sense of style remained intact until the end. She always had more fun than anyone else at any gathering and was usually the best-dressed person there! She was an active member of the Happy Hearts at Cannon United Methodist Church, where her excellence as a cook made any dish she provided one of the first to disappear at their monthly lunches.
A funeral service was held Monday, November 23, at two o’clock at Cannon Church in Snellville, Georgia, followed by a reception in the fellowship hall. Her ashes will be inurned on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at two o’clock at the columbarium of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Wake Forest. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cannon United Methodist Church, 2424 Webb Gin House Road, Snellville, GA 30044 or to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Avenue, Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.

Albert W. ‘Al’ Neubaum Sr.
Franklinton
Albert William Neubaum Sr. of Franklinton was called home to be with the Lord on November 18, 2015. Al was a proud veteran, having served in the United States Navy. He was also a U. S. Postal Service worker for 33 years. In addition, some of his proudest moments were spent as a scout master for the Boy Scouts of America for 14 years.
Al became a resident of North Carolina in 2007 and was a member of Hope Lutheran Church where he volunteered with various programs including Men of Hope, Gods Gofers, HOWLERS and served as an usher.
A memorial service will be held at 11 o’clock Saturday morning, November 28, 2015, at Hope Lutheran Church, 3525 Rogers Road, Wake Forest.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Donna; his daughters, Jean-Marie Jones (Brian), Julie-Ann Harris (Dean) and his son, Albert William Jr. (Amy). Al’s pals were his grandchildren, Garrett, Shaelyn, Makayla and Jordan Neubaum, Bobby and Kaitlyn Hime and Elijah and Emma Harris. He is also survived by family and friends that he truly loved, of whom are all across the country.

Betty Lou Moss Murray
Youngsville
Betty Lou Moss Murray, 77, of Youngsville went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 16, 2015. She was born on August 7, 1938, in Oxford. She married Sidney Lee Murray on January 7, 1959.
She was predeceased by her parents, John C. Moss and Alma Pitchford Moss; sisters, Margie Moss Eakes, Rowena Moss Allen, and Jane Moss; and by her brother, Rives Moss.
A memorial service honoring her life was held at 12 o’clock noon on Thursday November 19, 2015, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with Pastor David Shaffer officiating. Mr. Kay Hill did the eulogy.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years and daughter, Connie Murray Wilson and her husband, Chuck, and two grandsons; sisters, Jean Moss Englebright, Janet Moss Herndon, Sally Moss Richard, Sara Moss Goodman, Dorothy Moss Munn, Jennie Moss Culp; and many nieces and nephews.
Betty loved the Lord and set a great example of how to be a godly wife and mom to her daughter. She loved to read her Bible and going to church. She was a member of Neuse Baptist Church since 1972. She liked to spend her spare time gardening and fishing with her husband, Sidney.

Worthington Strachan ‘W.S.’ Cox
Wake Forest
W.S. Cox, 79, of Wake Forest passed away Saturday morning, November 21, 2015, in Wake Forest. He was born in Hopewell, Virginia, the son of the late Mildred Jane Burnley Cox and Emmett Thomas Cox.
Mr. Cox was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was retired from the NCDOT. He was a member of Wake Forest Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon, November 23, 2015, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Tom Jackson officiating. Burial was in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Pansy Daniel Cox; daughters, Teresa Fitts and husband, Sean, of Willow Springs, and Carolyn Jessee and husband, Ernest, of Wake Forest; sister, Rebecca Hainstock of Hopewell, Virginia ; and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers were John Shepherd, Matthew Meadows, Rob Behling, Murrel Palmore, George Daniel and Jim Worley.

Joyce Warren Wilson, 71, of Wake Forest went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at Wake Medical Center. She was born in Danville, Virginia, the daughter of the late Roy James and Janie Custer Warren, and was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia W. Ray.
A memorial service honoring her life will be held 4 o’clock Saturday afternoon, December 5, 2015, at Glen Royal Baptist Church. Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the church.
Joyce is survived by her husband of 51 years Edmond H. “Ed” Wilson; daughters, Sherry Adkins (Kevin) of Princeton and Diana Carroll (Bob) of Fayetteville; brothers, R.J. Warren Jr. (Sally) of Garner and Charles Warren (Nancy) of Oxford; brothers-in-law, Bill Wilson (Mary), Earl Wilson (Linda) and her special brother-in-law, Claybon Ray; grandchildren, Edmond Robert Carroll, Taylor Alexandra Carroll, Madison Adkins and Drew Adkins; an aunt, Nellie Phelps of Danville, Virginia; and 18 nieces and nephews.

Elsie Potak Ragusa, 95, of Raleigh died Sunday, November 15, 2015, at Raleigh Rehab & Health Care in Raleigh. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Kate Caplan Potak and Max Potak.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, November 18, 2015, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with Rev. Al Thomas officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Okeechobee, Florida.
