Skylar Rose Fitzpatrick, 15, passed away at her home on October 30, 2015. Skylar was a resident of Wake Forest and was a sophomore at Wakefield High School.

Funeral services will be held at 3 o’clock Thursday afternoon, November 5, 2015, at Soapstone United Methodist Church, 12837 Norwood Road, Raleigh.

Skylar had many joys in her life which included her love for a variety of music from The Beach Boys to Fall Out Boy. Skylar and her dad attended many concerts together including the most recent being the American Roots Music and Arts Festival which included Cheryl Crow and Willie Nelson. Skylar and her mom loved their trips to the book stores and Starbucks. Skylar was her brother’s biggest fan always cheering him on at his games. Her creativity was shown through sketching and writing. One of Skylar’s favorite things she loved to do was to visit NYC where she enjoyed all the sites, shopping and pizza.

As a young girl Skylar loved playing and dressing up as Disney Princesses. She was often seen out shopping in her Snow White gown. Skylar also spent several years as a Girl Scout. She loved the outdoors, her walks in the woods, and collecting bugs. She also enjoyed horseback riding.

At the age of 10, Skylar found her love for Tae Kwon Do. After three years of very hard work and dedication, she achieved her proudest moment which was earning her International Tae Kwon Do First Degree Black Belt. She was a great role model and mentor to the younger students.

She is survived by her parents, Jill and Sean Fitzpatrick; her younger brother, Ryan Fitzpatrick; her paternal grandparents, Dawn and Robert Fitzpatrick of Wappingers Falls, New York; godson, Colton Charles Miller of Peyton, Colorado; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is also survived by her two beloved dogs, Buttercup and Suzy. She is predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Susan Kroohs and Donald Kroohs Jr., and her uncle, Scott Kroohs.

Cozie Lee Ray Sherron, 93, of Wake Forest passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015. She was born in Wake County, the daughter of the late A. W. and Susan Ray.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, November 1, 2015, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack O’Neal and the Rev. Alan Murphy officiating. Burial was in New Light Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Sherron is survived by her son, Doug Sherron and wife, Lois, of Wake Forest; daughter-in-law, Betty Sherron of Raleigh; son-in-law, Claude “Shank” Davis of Wake Forest; grandchildren, Marty Sherron, Lisa Sherron, Tony Newcomb, Michael Davis, Wendy Hicina, Tim Sherron, Tammy Britt and Tina Pearce; several great-grandchildren; three half-brothers and three half-sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Sherron; children, Bobby “Pete” Sherron, Roy Sherron, and Alice “Judy” Davis; grandchildren, Milton Davis and Shelton Sherron; and by her siblings, Ozie, Carmel and Cecil.

Memorial contributions may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 3320 US Hwy 1, Suite B., Franklinton, NC 27525.

Pallbearers were Tim Sherron, Billy Newcomb, Kenneth Pearce, Chris Newcomb, Michael Davis, and Marty Sherron. Honorary pallbearers were Claude Davis and C.J. Ray.
