Neil Holden
Youngsville
Richard Neil Holden of Youngsville passed away peacefully Monday, July 6, 2015, surrounded by his family at Rex Hospital after fighting a courageous battle with cancer for more than a year.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Thursday, July 9, 2015, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Youngsville Cemetery with Masonic Graveside Rites.
Neil was born August 3, 1949, to the late Berry Patterson “B.P.” Holden Jr. and Bertha Mason Holden and was raised in Franklin County on land that has been in the family for five generations and is registered as a Century Farm.
Since 1980, he owned and operated the family business of Holden’s BBQ, which was established in 1964. He was a board member of Franklin County Committee of 100 from 1998 to 2014 and served on the Youngsville Planning Board from 1996 to 2007. Neil was a member of Granville Lodge #380 A.F. & A.M. and a member of Wake Union Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Deborah Young Holden; sisters, Ginny Holden Keith and husband, Charles, of Youngsville and Judy Holden Hill and husband, John, of Rock Hill, South Carolina; sister-in-law, Linda Young Sandlin of Lake Royale; mother-in-law, Doris Woodlief of Wake Forest; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Neil was preceded in death by his brother, Randall Patterson “Randy” Holden.

Imogene Carol Overton
Youngsville
Imogene Carol Overton, 75, of Youngsville passed away peacefully to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 4, 2015, at WakeMed. She was born in Wake County, the daughter of the late Lillie Vivian Rogers Carter and Ijar C. Carter. Mrs. Overton loved her family, her friends and most of all her Lord.
Funeral services were held at 12 o’clock Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at Faith Baptist Church in Knightdale. Burial was in Raleigh Memorial Park.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Charles D. Overton; daughters, Suzanne Field and husband, Randy, of Youngsville and Donna Allen and husband, Dennis, of Wendell; sons, Herbie Bryant and wife, Tina, of Zebulon and Jeffrey Overton and wife, Kathy, of Oklahoma; sisters, Frances Brown and Susie Sandy, both of Youngsville, and Betty Lou Schiner of Iowa; brother, Bo Carter and wife, Debra, of Rolesville; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Evelyn Barham Carter
Wake Forest
Evelyn Barham Carter, 88, of Wake Forest died Saturday, July 4, 2015, at Wake Medical Center. She was born in Wake County, the daughter of the late Sadie Underwood Barham and Foster Barham.
Mrs. Carter was a retired faculty secretary at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where she began her career in 1961 and remained for over 50 years. She led a very active life and in 1996 she was able to travel to Israel.
Funeral services were held at 11 o’clock Tuesday morning July 7, 2015, at Wake Forest Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Bill Slater officiating. Burial was in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Carter is survived by her sons, Terry Carter and wife, Susan, and Jerry Carter, all of Wake Forest; grandchildren, Matthew Charles Carter of Jensen Beach, Florida, Andrew Bryan Carter of Archer Lodge, Stephen Willis and wife, Courtney Mills Jones Willis, of Greensboro; and great-grandchildren, Jordan Mackenzie Carter and Berkley Stephen Willis.

Betty Lowery Price
Zebulon
Betty Gay Lowery Price, 70, of Zebulon passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015, at her home. She was born on January 8, 1945, in Wake County, the daughter of the late Lonnie and Bessie Marshall Lowery. Mrs. Price was a hair stylist for 30 years and retired after 17 years at Nomaco in Zebulon.
Funeral services were held at 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon, July 5, 2015, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Harrison officiating. Burial was in Stony Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Price is survived by her husband of 49½ years, Bobby Wayne Price; son, Michael W. Price of Zebulon; grandson, Caleb Brennan of Zebulon; sister, Mary Ann Lowery of Wake Forest; aunt, Eleanor M. Ray of Oxford; and many cousins.
