Jackie Crawford, 75, died Saturday at his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 30, 1941 in Johnston County to the late George Robert Crawford and the late Bessie Moore Crawford. He worked for many years as a mechanic at Sanders Ford and later at Sears Automotive, where he was a manager.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, Oct. 19, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home. His brother-in-law, the Rev. Allen Strickland, officiated. Entombment followed in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.
Jackie is survived by; his wife of 54 years, Faye Pearce Crawford; two sons, George William Crawford and wife, Ann-Marie, of Clayton, and Anthony Wayne Crawford of Wake Forest; two grandchildren, Caitlyn Crawford of Clayton and Joseph Crawford of Wake Forest; five sisters, Annie Mae Crawford, Margaret Douglas and husband, Jarvis, Geraldine Satterwhite and husband, Robert, Joan Lee and husband, Bill, Betty Strickland and husband, Allen; and many nieces and nephews.

Hazel Burnette Hailey
Youngsville
Hazel Burnette Hailey, 91, died Sunday afternoon, October 16, 2016, at the Franklin Oaks Nursing Center in Louisburg.
She was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Viola Beatrice Barham Burnette and Robert Addison Burnette, and was preceded in death by her husband, Morris “Scrap” Hailey.
A funeral service was held at Wednesday afternoon, October 19, 2016, in the Youngsville Baptist Church with Rev. Chuck Stratton officiating. Burial followed in the Youngsville Town Cemetery.
Mrs. Hailey is survived by her son, Randy Morris Hailey of Raleigh; grandchildren, Jenifer Akers and husband, Andy, of Indiana and Amanda Cobb of Wilmington; great-grandchildren, Hudson, Ava and Bowen Akers; and a sister, Beatrice Marie Hollowell of Greensboro.

Bennie James Ashworth

Bennie James Ashworth, 79, of Wake Forest passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at his home. He was born in Martinsville, Virginia, the son of Bennie and Louise Ashworth.
Mr. Ashworth’s life was a testament to dedication and service, as he was a veteran in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served for 20 years. He continued his service to our nation as an electronic technician for 20 years at Marine Corps Air Station at Cherry Point. He was also a dedicated member of the St. John’s Masonic Lodge in New Bern.
Mr. Ashworth is survived by his wife of 20 years, Rodney-Ann of Wake Forest; his daughter, Lynn Kuzeff and two grandchildren of Savannah, Georgia; sister, Jane Powers of Gainesville, Florida; sister, Mary Ann Ellerson and husband, Wayne, of Raleigh; and his wife’s sons, Jeffrey Woodlief and wife, Kim, of Raleigh and Scott Woodlief and wife, Trina, of Charleston, South Carolina. Mr. Ashworth was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Louise, and son, Bennie Wade Ashworth.
A private service in honor of Mr. Ashworth will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. Memorial contributions, in celebration of the life of Mr. Ashworth, may be made to the American Red Cross.

James “Jim” Allen Lee Sr. died Tuesday, October 11, 2016. He was born in Johnston County on September 20, 1941.

Alma Williams Johnson Booth
Youngsville
Alma W. Booth died at home on Wednesday October 12, 2016 after a lingering illness. She was born in Franklin County to the late William N. (Couge) and Margaret Braswell Williams. She was also predeceased by a sister, Marie Williams Bonner, and a brother, William N. Williams Jr.
Mrs. Booth retired as a tax technician with the N.C. Department of Revenue.
She is survived by her husband of 49 1/2 years, Willard E. (Bill) Booth Jr.; son; Andy Johnson; granddaughter, Libby Johnson; grandson; Chase Johnson; their mother, Ann Johnson; sisters, Frances Williams Duke and Shelby Williams Senter; sister-in-law, Daphine G. Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock in the Bright Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 14, 2016, with the Reverend Gary McNair officiating. Burial followed in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Youngsville.
Robert Franklin Johnston

Robert Franklin Johnston, 56, of Creedmoor passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.
Mr. Johnston was born in Brewton, Alabama , the son of Darry Eugene and Janie McLendon Johnston. He was a Designer with ATT Telecommunications. He was a member of the Woodland Baptist Church .
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Connie Anderson Johnston; sons, William Johnston and wife, Tiphanie, of Fenton, Missouri, Jared Johnston and Nathan Johnston, both of Creedmoor; parents, Darry Eugene Johnston and Janie McLendon Johnston of Montgomery Alabama; brother, John Johnston (Sue) of Clermont, Florida; sister, Joi Defee (Cliff) of Auburn, Alabama; granddaughter, Starlie Johnston of Fenton, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
A service celebrating Robert’s life was held at Woodland Baptist Church in Wake Forest Saturday, October 15, 2016.

Joseph Lewis Robinson

Joseph Lewis Robinson, 33, died Wednesday, October 12, 2016. Mr. Robinson was born in Vance County, the son of Debra Reavis and Henry Michael Robinson. He was a graduate of Franklinton High School and was employee with Trulite Glass & Aluminum Co.
A funeral service will be held at 11 o’clock Thursday morning, October 20, 2016, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton.
Mr. Robinson is survived by his father, Henry Michael Robinson; his mother, Debra Reavis; a brother, Mike Robinson; sister, Tammie Robinson; nieces, Jasmine Robinson, Courtney Wagner and Cassidy Wagner; nephew, Joshua Costal; and sister-in-law, Virginia Robinson.

Craig Alan Reynolds

Craig Alan Reynolds, 71, died Wednesday evening at his residence. He was born in King County, Washington, the son of the late Phyllis Buroker Reynolds and Frank Albert Reynolds, and was preceded in death by a son, Brent Alan Reynolds. Mr. Reynolds was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
A memorial service honoring his life was held Saturday afternoon, October 15, 2016, at the Columbarium in the Wake Forest Cemetery.
Mr. Reynolds is survived by his wife, Irene Stein Reynolds; a son, Luke Reynolds and his wife, Meghan, of Wake Forest; brothers, Chris Reynolds and wife, B.J., of Florida and Brian Reynolds and wife, Karan,of California; sisters-in-law, Mary Makepeace and Pauline Schire, both of Spring Lake; and grandchildren, Bella and Virginia Reynolds.

Bruce H. Strickland
Youngsville
Bruce Strickland, beloved husband and father, friend to all and a true Southern gentleman, passed away on October 14, 2016 from complications of a massive stroke.
Bruce was a quiet man of few words. He was admired and respected by all who knew him. Bruce never said an unkind word about anyone. He loved his simple country life and was often seen by those passing by cutting his 10 acres of grass on his big tractor with a smile on his face. Bruce was born and raised in Youngsville. He was a member of Youngsville Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and usher for many years. Bruce retired in 1989 as district manager of Brinks Armor Car Service in Raleigh.
A service honoring Bruce’s memory was held in the chapel at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens in Wake Forest on Sunday, October 16, 2016. Rev. Charles D. Stratton Jr. officiated. The family received friends after the service in the chapel.
Bruce leaves behind the love of his life for 66 years, his wife Voncile; daughter, Rhonda S. Irwin; nephew, Gary Strickland and his wife, Barbara; and a host of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Nova Strickland; brothers, Needham and Russell Strickland; and son-in-law, John Irwin.
