Jeannie Lee Allmon Jeans

Youngsville

Jeannie Lee Allmon Jeans, 74, of Youngsville passed away Monday, June 6, 2016, at Duke Raleigh Hospital. She was born in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late Jennie Bost Allmon and Alfred Leroy Allmon Sr.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon, June 9, 2016, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Jeans is survived by her daughters, Joyce Ann Carthen and Mary Christina Griffin; a son, Billy Joe Jeans Jr.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Jeans Sr., and by her brothers, Alfred Leroy Allmon, Jerry Allmon, Bobby Joe Allmon, and Jay Lee Allmon.

Edward Frederick Highfield

Youngsville

Edward Frederick Highfield, 85, of Youngsville passed away Saturday June 4, 2016, at Duke Raleigh Hospital. He was born in Los Angeles, California, on October 23, 1930, to the late Gertrude Margaret Hossman Highfield and Leslie Jack Highfield.  He grew up in Pasadena, living many years with his grandmother.

After graduating high school Ed was accepted into the Coast Guard Academy in Connecticut. He enlisted in the United States Air Force, and spent most of the next four years in Texas. Ed was trained as a pilot, and became an instructor.

He then attended the University of Southern California and became a devout Trojan fan. He graduated with a degree in engineering. His career as an aerospace engineer took him to many parts of the world as he worked with the Air Force and NASA. He retired from Lockheed Martin at Michoud, near New Orleans, Louisiana.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 1 o’clock Friday afternoon, June 10, 2016, at the Wake Forest Presbyterian Church with Rev. Rebekah Maul officiating.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Loretta; his children, Troy and Edy Highfield of Modesto, California, and Marla and Bill Seymour of Rolesville; His grandchildren, Braedon and Julia Seymour, are the reason that Ed and Loretta moved to Youngsville in 2007.

Nancy M. Anderson

Wake Forest

Nancy M. Anderson, 71, of Wake Forest, formerly of Fredericksburg, Virginia, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2016, at Duke University Hospital in Durham. She was born in Roanoke, Virginia, the daughter of the late Alice Powell Greenwood and John Ree Greenwood.

Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker, a former librarian and she held a master’s degree in special education. Her passions were being a teacher, artist/writer, music (autoharp) shared with her husband, and comedian (Maxe Diamond). She was bold and beautiful and Nancy made an impression on everyone she ever met. She truly loved her family.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Samuel E. Anderson; daughters, Sheryl Wicklund (Bob), and Donna Privette (Brian); a son, Edward Anderson; a brother, Randy Greenwood; many nieces and nephews (Anderson, Greenwood and Newton families); and grandchildren, Tiffany Wicklund, Felecia Wicklund and Steven Anderson. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Greenwood.

Joseph Martin McIsaac

Wake Forest

Joseph Martin McIsaac, 60, of Wake Forest died at his home on June 2, 2016. Mr. McIsaac was born on March 29, 1956, in Belleville, Ontario, Canada, to the late Olive Markle and Robert Bernard McIsaac.

A memorial service will be held at 11 o’clock Saturday morning, June 11, 2016, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Harris officiating.

Joe is survived by his wife, Susan G. Woodhouse McIsaac of the home; son, Shawn McIsaac of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; daughter, Jessica Lynn Delaney and her husband, Michael, of Garner; grandson, Owen Delaney; granddaughter, Samatha Trudell; and several friends.  He will be missed by all.

John W. Blackwell

Raleigh

John William Blackwell, 78, of Raleigh passed away Thursday evening, June 2, 2016 at his home. He was born in Vance County, the son of the late Marvin and Betty Blackwell, and was a member of Vision Baptist Church. Mr. Blackwell was a man of God. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and mentor to many. He was a retired supervisor with ITT with 31 years of service and was also retired from the NC National Guard with over 20 years of service.

Funeral services were held at 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon, June 5, 2016, at Vision Baptist Church with the Rev. Alfred Wright officiating. Burial was in Rolesville Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Blackwell is survived by his wife of nearly 42 years, Marie Thorne Blackwell; daughter, Cyndi Blackwell of Garner; sons, John W. Blackwell Jr., and wife, Tammy, of Apex and David R. Driver and wife, Jeannie, of Wendell; grandchildren, Brittany Blackwell, John William Blackwell III, Walker Driver, and Allan Driver; sisters, Katie B. Marshall and husband, Bobby, and Betty B. Mitchell and husband, Doug, of Wake Forest; brothers, Kenneth Blackwell and wife, Marie, of Wendell and Sammie Blackwell and wife, Shirley, of Raleigh; brother-in-law, Lawrence Sagendorph of Raleigh; and five nieces and seven nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Margie B. Sagendorph and Polly B. Journigan, and by her husband, Harold.

Talitha Cummi “Teny” Hill Williams

Talitha  Cummi  (Teny) Williams, 72, of Youngsville passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Transitions Life Care in Raleigh. Teny struggled a long but courageous battle with cancer. She was born November 10, 1943, in Spring Hope, the daughter of the late Robert Newell Hill and Pattie Heading Hill. She was one of eleven siblings.

In 1961, Teny married the love of her life, Kerney Williams, and resided in Youngsville and raised four daughters, Gail Albano and her husband, Frank, of  Louisburg, Janet Duke and her husband, Paul, of  Louisburg,  Lisa Layton and her husband, Randy, of  Louisburg, and Rhonda Williams of Battleboro. She loved her grandchildren, Robert Strickland of Raleigh, Bonnie Shearin of Youngsville, David Albano of Louisburg, Joshua Layton of Franklinton, Maryann Albano of Louisburg, and Paige Whitley of Battleboro; and five great-grandchildren, Kerney Strickland, Carlton Pernell, Kayla Pernell, Skiler Layton, and Kyrian Layton; sisters, Sadie Jones of Rocky Mount, Susie Moss of Spring Hope, Berten Wilder of Bunn, and Reba High of Momeyer; brothers, Willard Hill, Pete Hill, and Joe Hill, all of Spring Hope. In addition to her husband, Kerney, she was preceded in death by her sister, Louise Collie, and by her brothers, Adrain Hill and Bud Hill.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon June 3, 2016 at Flat Rock Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary McNair officiating. Burial was in the Wake Forest Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Flat Rock Baptist Church, 1529 Flat Rock Church Road, Louisburg, NC 27549.

Pallbearers were Paul Duke, Joshua Layton, David Albano, Randy Layton, Robert Strickland, and Kenny Belaire.
