Nellie Glenn Rice

Youngsville

Nellie Glenn Rice, 95, of Youngsville passed away Friday, January 15, 2016, at Duke Raleigh Hospital. She was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Lucinda Mae Williams Glenn and Frank Thomas Glenn, and was married to Tilman Bryant Rice, who preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, January 17, 2016, at Harris Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Bill Haley officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Rice is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Pearce and husband, Wilbur; sons, Steve Rice and wife, Gayle, and Darrell Rice and wife, Debbie, all of Youngsville; grandchildren, Tony Pearce, Tammy Wheeler, Bryant Rice, Alex Rice and David Rice; great-grandchildren, Miranda Wheeler, J.D. Rice, Luke Rice, Garrett Tilman Rice, Cody Rice and Jacob Rice.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Harris Chapel Baptist Church Building Fund, 2960 Tarboro Road, Youngsville, NC 27596.

Pallbearers were David Rice, Alex Rice, Bryant Rice, Tony Pearce, Danny Glenn, and Roy Barham.

Wake Forest

Norma S. Meath, 85, of Wake Forest passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday morning, January 16, 2016. She was born in Warren County, New York, the daughter of the late Sylvia Henderson Wakeley and William Wakeley.

Ms. Meath was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Wake Forest where she enjoyed many years of being actively involved in her church.

A memorial mass will be held on Friday, January 22, 2016, at 12 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 520 West Holding Avenue, Wake Forest. A luncheon will be served immediately following Norma’s memorial mass.

She is survived by her children, Carol McClain and her husband, William, of Wake Forest, David Meath and his wife, Suzanne, of Pine Bush, New York, and Cynthia Maroney and her husband, David, of Bennington, Vermont; grandchildren; Abigail Kepler and husband, Brent, Lucas McClain and fiancé, Chris McIlravey, Collin Meath, Jesse Meath, Matthew Maroney and wife, Amy, and Kati Walters and husband, Chris; great-grandchildren, Alex Walters, Abigail Walters and Ryan Maroney; and numerous nieces and nephews

The family would like to thank Transitions Life Care, friends and family for their care, love and prayers through this difficult time.
