Note the changes in the market’s days and hours

The holiday season means some changes in the days and hours for the Wake Forest Farmers Market.

The market will be open as usual Saturday, Nov. 22, from 10 a.m. to noon.

But the following week, the week of Thanksgiving, there will be a Holiday Market on Tuesday, Nov. 25, from 3 to 5 p.m. when shoppers can pick up their turkeys, ducks, chickens and other special holiday meal items. There will be no market on Saturday, Nov. 29.

The market will be back as usual on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. to noon, but it will be displaced on Saturday, Dec. 13, because the Renaissance Plaza and streets around it will be used to stage the annual Wake Forest Christmas Parade that begins at 1 p.m.

After that, you will find the market as usual, except for a holiday market near Christmas, through the winter until April, when it returns to summer hours.

There is still a large selection of winter greens and vegetables as well as the grass-fed beef, chicken, turkeys, pork, lamb and rabbit

There are eggs for sale, some even marked with the date they were laid, baked goods both sweet and gluten-free, all the items you will need to decorate your home for the fall and Thanksgiving – corn stalks, hay bales, potted mums, and gourds – along with house plants, handmade jewelry, soaps, lotions, honey, hand-knit hats, scarves and gloves, and fresh-cut flowers and dried flower wreaths.

See the market on Facebook, take a look at all the vendors and their wares as well as special events at www.wakeforestfarmersmarket.org or call 919-671-9269 if you need information.
