The editor always takes the week after Christmas for vacation. After all, everyone is so busy with all the holiday events, family events and shopping, both before and after, that no one has time for meetings and other official events. Experience has shown that most news during that week is about events the Gazette does not cover: crime, vehicle accidents, and fires.
