Next Consignment for sale

This week owner Pam Jay announced Next Consignment Boutique at 210 South Main Street is for sale and she will be closing the business at the end of February.

”Although I have loved being a part of this shop, I am ready to move on to another chapter in my life and join my husband in retirement. I have spent nine wonderful years as the owner of NEXT,” Jay wrote in an email to her customers. “Without your support, the shop would not have thrived for the 17 years that it has been open, both in North Raleigh for 10 years and now for 7 years in Wake Forest. I thank you for your confidence in me and my employees.”

Jay said she had several leads but does not yet have a buyer. She did ask customers to help with the sale. “. . ., if you know someone who may be interested in owning a fun and reputable business, please put them in touch with me. I can easily supply general and financial information about the business to anyone interested. You might mention that we have been voted the Best Consignment Shop in Wake Forest, Franklin County, Youngsville, Rolesville, and Wakefield areas for the last 5 years by The Wake Weekly readers!”

You can reach Jay at 919-554-8040 or NextConsignment@embarqmail.com.

The building was constructed in 1915 by Ira Otis Jones for his business, Jones Hardware, which he started across the street as Wake Forest Supply Company at 211 South White in 1906. Leland Jones joined his father in 1935 and after his death the business was run by his daughter, Margaret Stinnett, who moved it to Durham Highway in 1991 and closed it in 2004 after nearly 100 years of operation. It has housed a number of businesses including a bagel and sandwich shop.

It is currently owned by Trackside LLC, which is owned by Christian and Sarah Poole, 903 Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh. APC Holdings LLC, owned by Dino Radosta, purchased it in 2008 and renovated the building’s two stories before selling it.
