New website, more market vendors

The website for the Wake Forest Farmers Market has been update with a really good look and lots of information. See it at www.wakeforestfarmersmarket.org.

And, with spring weather finally here, there are more vendors who will be at the market from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 14, in Renaissance Plaza on Brooks Street.

The lineup includes Triple B Farm with its grass-fed beef, pork, lamb and chicken as well as bacon, sausage, brats and more. Brogden’s Produce will be selling both white and red sweet potatoes as well as spinach and kale.

There is a new vendor, Bolling Fog Farm, and its owner, Jennifer Myers will sell chicken eggs and team up with Chickcharney Farm to sell micro greens, pet grass and wheat grass.

Walk Ahead Farms will have chicken and duck eggs (pre-orders recommended) along with different cuts of chicken, duck, turkey, goat, rabbit and pork. Try their bacon or their several varieties of sausage.

Smith’s Soap has lovely soaps as well as lavender spritzer and lip balm. Stop by Oak City Coffee Roasters for a cup and then buy some of their South American and African coffees.

Turtle Mist Farm offers grass-fed beef, lamb and pork in a variety of cuts as well as sausage and bratwurst. They also offer hand-crafted jewelry and decorative peacock feathers. They shelter the Carolina Bee Company’s soaps, lotions, lip balms, candles and more.

Need to feed your sweet tooth? Stop by Yummies for Irish soda bread, foccaccia, country French bread, vegetable tart, cinnamon rolls, cherry kolachy, banana bread, chocolate cinnamon bread, chocolate chip cookies and mud slides.

Another relatively new vendor this year is Serenity Meadow, which is offering elderberry syrup, goat’s milk soap and lotion, herbal tea and bath salts.

The market will begin its spring and summer hours, 8 a.m. to noon, on April 4.

There will be a special Spring Solstice Market on April 18 with a market that will include a number of craft vendors.
