Meet many candidates Sunday

People in Wake Forest and North Raleigh are invited to a picnic Sunday, June 29, to meet the Democratic candidates for Wake County sheriff, seats on the Wake County Board of Commissioners and seats in the North Carolina General Assembly House and Senate.

These candidates have confirmed that they will attend:

— Sig Hutchinson, Matt Calabra, Jessica Holmes and John Burns, who are running for seats on the Wake County Board of Commissioners.

— Willie Rowe, candidate for Wake County Sheriff

— Lorrin Freeman, candidate for Wake County District Attorney

— Sam Bridges, candidate for Wake County Clerk of Court

— Brian Mountcastle, candidate for N.C. House District 35

— Sarah Crawford, candidate for N.C. Senate District 18

— Kim Hanchette, candidate for N.C. House District 49

— Brenda Cleary, candidate for U.S. House District 13

— Mark Davis, candidate for the N.C. Court of Appeals

— Craig Croom, Louis Meyer and Ronnie Ansley, candidates for Wake County District Court judgeships.

Congressman David Price, Senator Kay Hagan, Clay Aiken, the candidate for U.S. House District 2; Cheri Beasley, Sam Ervin and Robin Hudson, candidates as justices on the N.C. Supreme Court; Lucy Inman, candidate for the N.C. Court of Appeals; and Vince Rozier and Keith Gregory, both running unopposed for Wake Court District Court judgeships, have been invited and may appear.

The picnic will be held Sunday, June 29, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Honeycutt Park at 1032 Clear Creek Farm Drive. There will be hot dogs and soft drinks. If you plan to attend, send an email to davidbland2040@gmail.com or call 919-538-3912 to make sure there is enough food.

Honeycutt Park is off Durant Road. From Durant Road, turn south onto Honeycutt Road. Clear Creek Farm Drive will be your first road to the right.

  1. Margaret Broadwell, Democratic candidate against Rep. Marilyn Avila for NC House in District 40 which includes around half of Wake Forest, will be in attendance also.
