LEDE Studio changing gears

A downtown Wake Forest art gallery will be shifting its business model to make room for a more focused approach for its artist owner.

Ginger Meek Allen, owner of LEDE Studio & Gallery, will be focusing her time and space on her jewelry business. After March 15, the former LEDE Gallery will become a showroom for Allen’s work, and a venue for seasonal trunk shows and events.

“I’m excited about freeing up my time to focus completely on my custom clients both locally and internationally,” Allen said. “In the last two weeks, I have sent estimates to six different states. It seems like the natural next step for me.”

Allen said she will continue to maintain open studio hours on Fridays for her local clients to get jewelry repaired, to buy from her currently available work, and to commission custom jewelry. She is also expanding her website to include ecommerce for clients anywhere in the world.

“I won’t be providing representation to other artists any more, and the LEDE brand will be coming to an end,” Allen said. “But I’m not going anywhere.”

LEDE Gallery has represented dozens of artists over its four years as a downtown Wake Forest art venue. It has been known for its contemporary narrative approach to painting, photography, fine craft and primarily art jewelry.

LEDE Gallery will host one final show featuring new work from local favorite Neel Guest in March. “Where The Broken People Go” will be available for early viewing beginning February 28th, with a reception March 14. March 15 will be the final day of the show.
