The snow, freezing rain and sleet that began Monday afternoon and continued through early Tuesday morning forced the cancellation or rescheduling of everything from area schools to town meetings.
Thankfully, Wake Forest and the northern Wake area escaped without power outages or serious traffic accidents.
We are facing three nights of dangerously low temperatures. Bring in the pets – these qualify as three-dog nights – keep a faucet dripping overnight to forestall frozen water pipes (use cold water), check on elderly neighbors and friends or take them a hot meal, and bundle up every time you go outdoors.
