Help the B&G, run with the Gobblers

With 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting the Boys & Girls Club, the Gobbler’s Run 5K in Wake Forest is a unique, high-profile run that brings together children, families, and avid runners of all ages.

It takes place at 8 a.m. on Nov. 27, Thanksgiving Day, in front of the Wake Forest Boys & Girls Club on South Wingate Street.

Last year’s race attracted over 2,300 participants and a larger crowd is expected this year. Strollers and pets are welcome.

Kids 5 and under are free. Registration fees for Ages 16 and over are $20 by Oct. 31, $25 between Nov. 1 and Nov. 24, and $30 between Nov. 25 and Nov. 27. Ages 6 thru Age 15 are $15 by Oct. 31, $20 between Nov. 1 and Nov. 24 and $25 between Nov. 25 and Nov. 27. Registration forms can be printed from the website for those who want to register by mail.

This Thanksgiving Day event is a great way to bring families together, encourage healthy lifestyles, and support the Wake Forest community.

Last year we donated $35,000 to the Wake Forest Boys & Girls Club. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Wake County enables young people, especially those who need them most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring responsible citizens. The Gobbler’s Run 5K will help provide life-enhancing programs and services for more than 1,000 children and teens in Wake Forest.
