Fun all over during Friday’s Art After Hours

Featured artists, music, and refreshments will be on tap all through downtown Wake Forest Friday night for this month’s Art Aft Hours from 5 to 9 p.m.

The listing includes:

Over The Falls Deli at 419 South Brooks Street. Stop by and enjoy great food, music and libations. Bella Trix will be performing live starting at 8:30 and going until about midnight.

Sunflower Studio & Gallery at 214 East Jones Avenue. The Guest Gallery Reception: A special show this month: “Three Men in a Gallery” Steve Blackerby: Wood furniture & table designs, Norm Richardson: photography of NC landscapes & Grist Mills,and Theo Farantatos: Pyrography/Wood burning art. They bring their connections with nature and North Carolina to life through their art.

The Art Nook at Mimosa at 115 South White Street will feature pottery and jazz. Franklin County potter Leslie Martin will be exhibiting her pottery works. The Franklinton-based artist specializes in fired stoneware & porcelain, decorative functional pieces, wall panels and sculpture.

On her website, Leslie writes, “I began working with clay through a beginning wheel class 20 years ago. I felt pulled toward pottery from a very young age. My path was set from that first class. I continue with classes and workshops at any opportunity. I’m at my studio most days. My husband & I bought an old building on Main St. in Franklinton about eight years ago. It proves to be a great work space, allowing room for lots of equipment.”

While taking in the pottery exhibit and browsing the store, shoppers can enjoy live jazz music played by Leon Holt.

Pink Cherry Trees Boutique, 123 S. White Street. Pink Cherry Trees will have a Sip & Shop! Wine and snacks, along with 10 percent off the entire store including sale items! They will be debuting new arrivals and gift wrapping by request for holiday shoppers !

White Street Brewing Company, 218 S. White Street.  Grab a hand-crafted ale at the award winning White Street Brewing Company while you listen to The Free States playing live music from 8 to 10:30pm.

Wake Forest Today, 102 Roosevelt Street, will feature Jeanna Jinks who will be showcasing her new works of a series called “my masters”. This will include large mixed media paintings and masks one of which was made from the help of a rooster that she raised on her farm. She will also be selling goat milk soap that she makes. And, for your musical entertainment, the local Wake Forest band velvet goldfish will be performing.

The Cotton Company Gallery, 306 S. White Street. Featuring Hope Delivered, a brand new company featuring minimalist artwork that is launching its online store on November 14th! As always, our reception is from 6 pm-9 pm and we’ll have free wine samples and refreshments.

Next Consignment Boutique, 210 South White Street.

Next Consignment Boutique is proud to feature Gaylord Picard and his artwork this month for Art After Hours on Friday, November 14th, from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. He will be present to discuss his art and answer questions. Refreshments will be served.

Gaylord is resident artist, along with Bruce Johnson, at 727 North Main, an art studio on N. Main St. in Wake Forest. His paintings, digital photography, and wood sculptural mirrors and tables are on display, along with jewelry, fine arts, cards and gifts from other artists.

Gaylord has been a resident of Wake Forest for 26 years. He holds a degree in architecture and works with specially designed building structures, having done work on many of the historic buildings and homes in Wake Forest. The Artist Loft and Gallery, 156 S. White Street.

Please join us at The Artist Loft and Gallery for Art After Hours on November 14th from 5 till 9. Our guest artist is Ken Litwak. Ken has shown at the coffee shop before and many of you may remember his wonderful Christmas paintings done on repurposed wood. He has many new works to share with us again this year and all of them are not Christmas themed. Ken will also have for us this year his new animal series that he is calling Love The Animals. His work is bright and cheerful and will definitely put a smile on your face. We also will have with us for part of the night a very accomplished young musician to play his Violin for your listening pleasure. Samuel Henderson is 16 and plays with The Duke University String School Orchestra. His music will be a treat for your ears and our art a treat for your eyes.
