Events at Northern Senior Center

November and December bring a flurry of fun events to the Northern Wake Senior Center.

An upcoming special event is the annual Craft and Art Sale that will take place from Monday, Nov. 17, through Saturday, Nov. 22. The hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the weekdays and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

Remember that the center will be closed for Thanksgiving and Christmas, Nov. 27 and 28 and Dec. 24 through Dec. 26.

The Tea Social Fundraiser to raise money toward the purchase of a new DVD/CD player will be held Thursday, Nov. 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. Bring a fancy tea cup and a baked goodie to share and learn what the center has to offer.

Medicare Part D open enrollment is now underway and will end Dec. 7. Check the schedule for appointment times.

One class is back by popular demand, the Constitution and Government Class which is limited to 12 participants. It will begin Thursday, Nov. 20. Sign up at the front desk.

There is also a new Fit and Strong Fitness Class held Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. It begins Dec. 1. This is an eight-week class, an evidence-based program. Again, sign up at the front desk.

The Thanksgiving Covered Dish Social will be held Monday, Nov. 24, from 10 a.m. to noon. Sign up at the front desk and bring a dish to share.

Remember that Wake Tech offers classes and lectures at Northern Wake Senior Center. Currently the Spanish 101 class is full and not accepting more students. Computer 301 taught by Jerry Glenn begins Nov. 17 and runs all that week from 9 to 11 a.m. The limit is nine students but you can still enroll.
