Enjoy the offerings at Art After Hours

The monthly stroll after hours along South White Street this Friday night, June 13, promises both new looks and local favorites.

M. Theresa Brown will be featured at Wake Forest Art & Frame, and there will be a reception with wine and refreshments. Brown is a professional portrait artist who works in oils, pastels, watercolors and pencil. Also, owner Beth Massey invites you to see Brown’s abstracts and a selection of printed scarves.

Across the street at Next Consignment Boutique, owner Pam Jay will feature music – singer Courtney Coyle – who will perform from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. “He has had a passion for all types of music from an early age. His first love belongs to old time crooners such as Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. He was raised in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in South Carolina and graduated from Belmont University in Nashville, TN with a Bachelor of Music degree in 2010. Currently, he is attending Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in pursuit of a Masters of Divinity degree. His strong, clear, beautiful voice will astound you, as he sings some of his favorites, and hopefully yours!

June is when Linda Burrell, the owner of the Sunflower Studio & Gallery on East Jones Avenue, shows off the best work done by her students. There will be a reception – and you will be amazed at the work these young people create.

At the same time, three artists will be showing their works in the guest gallery. Come see the work by Diana Cook, Jack Avent and Betty George.

At the Artists’ Nook at Mimosa, Mary Benejam will exhibit handmade leather journals.

Wake Forest Downtown will provide the free horse and carriage rides.

Finish the evening at The Lemon Tree Café with a special Art After Hour menu for a four-course dinner. Reservations are recommended.
