*The Jan. 7 meeting of the Wake Forest Woman’s Club will be held at the Wake Forest Town Hall in the ground floor meeting room. The Taylor Street entrance is the most convenient. The change in location is necessary because of renovations around the Community House.
*The Wake Forest Farmers Market will return to Renaissance Plaza on Saturday, Jan. 9, with its usual winter hours, 10 a.m. to noon.
*The Spelling Bee sponsored by the Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce will be held Tuesday, Jan. 12, at CenturyLink on Capital Boulevard. The event will begin with a Teachers’ Reception from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. to recognize local teachers and principals, and the Spelling Bee will begin at 5:45. See the chamber website, www.wakeforestchamber.org for information about joining or forming a team for the bee or to sponsor a team. All money raised goes to teacher grants.
*The annual Wake Forest Dr. Martin Luther King Celebration will be held Thursday, Jan. 21, at 7 p.m. at Friendship Chapel Baptist Church on Friendship Chapel Road. Everyone in the community is invited to the free event and to share in the light supper that will be served from 6 to 7 p.m.
