*The Wake Forest Farmers Market will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 24, in the Renaissance Plaza in front of the Renaissance Centre. Food, music and farm-fresh meats, vegetables and fruit, all raised within 75 miles.
*A Community Outreach Night sponsored by the Wake Forest Human Relations Council will be held in the Heritage Middle School auditorium at 3400 Rogers Road on Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Members of the Heritage community are particularly invited, but the evening could be of interested to many others. *The Wake Forest Historical Association will host a free program about the history of Wake Electric Sunday, Oct. 25, from 2 to 5 p.m. (note the change from the usual time) in the new Wake Electric building on Franklin Street.
*The Wake Forest Chamber’s Business & Community Expo will be held Thursday, Oct. 29, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Richland Creek Community Church on Burlington Mills Road. It is sponsored by CenturyLink and is free to everyone.
*Enjoy the vibrant colors of autumn and learn about native trees during two Fall Foliage Tours Wednesday, Oct. 28, at E. Carroll Joyner Park on Harris Road. Urban Forestry Coordinator Jennifer Rall will conduct the free, suitable for children and adults tours at 10 a.m. and again at 2 p.m.
*The last Wake Forest Flag Raising of this year will be held Monday, Nov. 2, in Centennial Plaza to honor Petty Officer 3 James Weiss. See more in the article in this edition.
*Tuesday, Nov. 3, is Election Day, and Wake Forest voters will elect three members of the town board. Polls are open at all precincts from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. You are not required to show your voter registration card to vote. *A Holiday Bazaar sponsored by the St. Ives Estates Activities Committee will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the St. Ives Clubhouse at 505 Capellan Street. Vendors are asked to donate $10 to Tri-Area Ministries Food Pantry in lieu of space rental and shoppers are asked to donate nonperishable food items on the day of the bazaar. *The 2025 Renaissance Centre Broadway Ball will provide an evening of music, dancing and food while at the same time raising money for the centre’s youth scholarship program. See all the details in the article in this issue.
