Mary Dolores ‘Doris’ Bonett

Franklinton

Doris Bonett, 71, of Franklinton died Sunday evening, October 18, 2015, at her residence. She was born in Balzan, Malta, the daughter of the late Josephine Carachi and Lawrence Caruana. Mrs. Bonett was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker.

A funeral mass will be held at 12:15 Friday afternoon, October 23, 2015, at Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Wake Forest.

Mrs. Bonett is survived by her husband, Victor Bonett; daughters, Rita Bonett of Franklinton, Diane Zammit and husband, Alfred, of Franklinton; a son, Frankie Bonett and wife, Julie, of Youngsville; brothers, Peter Caruana and John Caruana, both of New York; grandchildren, Lacy, Keith and Kaylee; and great-grandchildren, Layla and Emma.

Jane Jordan Blevins

Rolesville

Jane Jordan Blevins, 66, of Rolesville, died at home on Sunday, October 18, 2015, after a long struggle with cancer.

A memorial service honoring her life will be held at 8 o’clock Friday evening, October 23, 2015, at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center.

Jane grew up in Castlewood, Virginia. Having studied piano extensively, she had the chance to teach music. In 1970, she became a music teacher in Wise, Virginia. Over the next several years, she taught music in several schools in Virginia and Tennessee. During this period she was also involved in the music programs of a number of churches in the area.

In 1993, her husband had a job transfer to the Franklin County, North Carolina area. Jane found a music position in a local school and continued her work. After a year or two, she discovered her love for literature, and started teaching English.    She continued teaching English in Franklin County until her retirement in 2011. During this time she also served as the choir director for a local church and was involved in many music related activities in the community.

Jane is survived by her husband, George, who resides in Rolesville; step-daughters, Jessica and Erin from Piney Flats, Tennessee; sister, Polly Frazier from Rockford, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit with the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at Bright Funeral Home.

Col. William MacLeod ‘Bill’ Hon, USA (Ret.)

Raleigh

Col. William MacLeod “Bill” Hon, USA (Ret.), 94, Raleigh passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, October 18, 2015. Bill was born on April 18, 1921, in Denver, Colorado, the son of the late Joseph MacLeod Hon and Dora Gunnels Hon. He retired from the U.S. Army with the rank of Colonel after 33 years of service. During his military career, he served in World War II, the Battle of the Bulge and the Korean War. His career included artillery and intelligence serving at the Pentagon and three foreign countries. Col. Hon’s awarded medals include the Legion of Merit with two Oak Leaf Clusters and the Bronze Star with one Oak Leaf Cluster.

Bill was a member of Millbrook United Methodist Church in Raleigh and was a former member of Great Bridge United Methodist Church in Great Bridge, Virginia. He was a former member of Great Bridge Lodge #257, A.F. & A.M.

He is survived by his daughters, Susan H. Finefrock of Memphis, Tennessee, and Deborah H. Oldham and husband, Ed, of Raleigh; grandchildren, Caryn F. Holden and husband, Benn, of Oakland, Tennessee, and Collin R. Finefrock of Cordova, Tennessee; brothers, Paul J. Hon of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and George E. Hon and wife, Margaret, of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Shirley; his brothers, Leonard E. Hon and Arthur G. Hon, and by his son-in-law, Carl G. Finefrock.

A special heartfelt thanks and deep appreciation to the staff at Woodland Terrace Arboretum in Cary for all their love, devotion and dedicated care and also to the supportive team at Transitions LifeCare Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue, New York, NY 10001 or to Transitions LifeCare Hospice 250 Hospice Circle Raleigh, NC 27607.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon, October 25, 2015, at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 405 South Main Street Wake Forest, NC 27587. Interment will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.

Sabrina Wilson Trevathan

Raleigh

Sabrina Wilson Trevathan, 47, of Raleigh passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2015, at Transitions Life Care in Raleigh. She was born in Wake County, the daughter of Ron A. Wilson and the late Margaret Brandon Wilson.

Funeral services were held at 1 o’clock Monday afternoon, October 19, 2015, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Shelton officiating. Burial was in Montlawn Memorial Park.

Sabrina is survived by her husband, Ben P. Trevathan Jr.; daughter, Emmalei Trevathan of Raleigh; father, Ron A. Wilson of Wake Forest; brother, Nick Wilson of Delaware; sister, Karyn Victory and husband, David, of Richmond, Virginia; mother-in-law, Grace Trevathan of Raleigh; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Don Wood, Don Rumage, John Spiridigliozzi, and Thomas Lindsay.
