Remember that there were worries last week when Wake Forest Police Officer M.W. Sattler said there still were far fewer than the 700 or so turkeys the Wake Forest Police Department had distributed in 2014. Last-minute pleas and enthusiastic givers changed that by Saturday, the last day of the turkey and cash collection.
Settler reported this week that they had 876 turkeys to give away Monday at the Wake Forest Community House, many donated Saturday.
“We collected 182 turkeys Saturday and over $1,500 in donations. Both are record highs for us on a drop-off date. No families were turned away (Monday). In fact, we had several turkeys left over which we delivered to Tri-Area Ministry.”
To the generous Wake Forest community, thank you.
