*The Wake Forest Fourth of July Celebration will be held over two days, the Friday and Saturday of July 3 and 4. The stadium and fireworks show will be held in Trentini Stadium on the campus of Wake Forest High School on Friday evening, July 3, and the children’s parade and activities in Holding Park afterward will be held Saturday, July 4. There will be more details in coming weeks. *The Wake Forest Farmers Market will be open from 8 a.m. to noon in Renaissance Plaza on Brooks Street this Saturday, July 4. *The Friends of the Wake Forest Library will hold its annual meeting Wednesday, July 15, at 7 p.m. in the Northern Regional Center on East Holding Avenue. Sylvia Ethel Grillo Wake Forest Sylvia Ethel Grillo, 84, of Wake Forest passed away Thursday evening, June 25, 2015, at her home. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Hartley Philp and Lily Jane Gill Philp. Sylvia was a resident of Wake Forest for nine years.  She enjoyed traveling in her retirement years including numerous states, the Caribbean and a trip to England to see the towns where her parents were born. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2015, in the Chapel of Chapel Hill Gardens Funeral Home and Cemetery, 11333 South Central Avenue, Oak Lawn, Illinois. Burial will follow in the cemetery. Mrs. Grillo is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Nowoc and husband, Bob, of Wake Forest and Cynthia Halley and husband, Russ, of Coloma, Michigan; son, Jack McGreehin and wife, Lauren, of New Lenox, Illinois; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
