{"id":1616,"date":"2014-08-27T15:20:41","date_gmt":"2014-08-27T19:20:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wakeforestgazette.com\/?p=1616"},"modified":"2014-08-27T15:20:41","modified_gmt":"2014-08-27T19:20:41","slug":"still-time-donate-school-supplies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wakeforestgazette.com\/still-time-donate-school-supplies\/","title":{"rendered":"Still time to donate school supplies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There is still time and ways to donate money or school supplies to the Wake Forest Kiwanis Club\u2019s effort to help children in the area\u2019s elementary schools.<\/p>\n<p>The club is partnering with Walmart, Staples, Rex Health Care and Chick Fil-A; members of the Key Clubs in area high schools will assist. They are looking forward to a record response.<\/p>\n<p>You can drop off donations at two convenient locations. Wake Forest Federal Savings &amp; Loan will take the donations every day through Friday, Aug. 29, and Rex Wellness Center in Wakefield will accept donations on Saturday, Aug. 30.<\/p>\n<p>You may also donate money for the club to purchase the school supplies. Make the check payable to the Wake Forest Kiwanis Foundation, a 501 c (3) nonprofit corporation, to make it tax-deductible.<\/p>\n<p>You will not only be helping area children whose parents cannot afford all the school supplies, you will also help the area\u2019s teachers, who regularly buy supplies for their classrooms because of limited school budget. The need there is even greater this year.<\/p>\n<p>Students and teachers need colored pencils, markers, paper, wide-ruled notebooks, pencil pouches, plastic folders, 2-pocket folders, one subject binders, crayons, hand sanitizer, composition notebooks, highlighters, and do not forget tissues for runny noses.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There is still time and ways to donate money or school supplies to the Wake Forest Kiwanis Club\u2019s effort to help children in the area\u2019s elementary schools.
