Wintry weather does not discourage the market

This has been a cold winter, and regular readers know that sensible spinach and other greens are reluctant to grow when the temperature dips. Still, last week there was some spinach at the market.

And also at the market were cheese, sprouts, eggs, baked goods, honey, warm knit hats, crafts, jewelry, and lots of meats. The vendors are hardy and the regular customers are grateful.

You will find most of those this Saturday, Feb. 15, when the market is open with its winter hours, 10 a.m. to noon in the parking lot behind CVS.

The market will return to its summer hours the first Saturday in April. Something to look forward to.

Keep track of all the hours, all the events and all the vendors on Facebook or at www.wakeforestfarmersmarket.org.
