WF Chamber forming Black Business Alliance

The Wake Forest Area Chamber announces plans for a new group forming within the Chamber: a Black Business Alliance.  Created to provide resources, support, and connections for Black professionals in the area, the Alliance will hold its initial Founder’s meeting on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at 5:30 p.m. at the Chamber, 350 S. White Street in downtown Wake Forest.

“For almost two years, we’ve been meeting to determine how to better support diverse business professionals in our area,” said Ann Welton, president of the Chamber. “Patterned after our successful Women’s Business Alliance, this group will offer Black businesspeople the opportunity to come together for education, professional development, and socializing.”

Veronica Alston, a member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, will chair the Alliance. “As a Black professional, I’m excited to lead the group and help define what it can become in the future. There is so much opportunity in our area. Working together, we can help everyone become successful.”

After the Founder’s meeting on August 3, a regular meeting schedule will be set and published. Black professionals who are interested in learning more about the Black Business Alliance and the Wake Forest Area Chamber are invited to attend.
