Want a fun Fourth? Help the committee

The Fourth of July is a little less than two months away, and the all-volunteer committee needs a little help from their friends.

They are always happy to have more hands and bodies help out with all the activities that make Wake Forest’s celebration special, but they need monetary help as well. As Chairman Rob Mitchell said in a letter this week, “With the costs of putting on such a high quality event continuously rising, we need your support now, more than ever! Please consider being a part of this special celebration by helping to sponsor our 2017 Celebration with a donation.  Your contribution will help put smiles on the faces of thousands of children and adults alike.”

Mitchell noted: “When the Town of Wake Forest asked residents to define what gives our community its small town character, they identified our Fourth of July Celebration as one of the things that make Wake Forest the charming small town that it is.

The Wake Forest Fourth of July celebration continues to be one of the best fireworks displays in the state of North Carolina, and one of the most successful events of its type in the Southeast. As we begin planning for our 44th annual Fourth of July Celebration, we once again turn to our community for much needed support of this unique family celebration of our nation’s birthday.”

The stadium show and fireworks display in Trentini Stadium on the Wake Forest High School campus is usually the evening of July 3 while the children’s parade on North Main Street and Art in the Park and Games in the Park (Holding Park) are on the day itself, July 4.

Mitchell is asking individuals and businesses to help sponsor the 2017 celebration. You can donate any amount, but he also has several levels of contribution.
