Zippia, a career resource website, recently conducted a study to determine the 10 best cities for jobs in North Carolina and Wake Forest placed ninth.
Zippia analyzed 40 of the state’s largest cities using the following criteria:
* Current unemployment rate;
* Unemployment rate change year-over-year;
* Current median household income; and
* Median household income change year-over-year.
The source of the criteria is the American Community Survey from the Census.
According to Zippia, Wake Forest earned its ranking by being one of the leaders in the Tar Heel State for median income ($85, 155) and median income growth.

The headline is extremely misleading. This has nothing to do with jobs in Wake Forest. It’s just an indication of the quality of life in Wake Forest, which operates largely as a bedroom community for RTP/Raleigh/Durham.
