“Hurricane Florence is heading for North Carolina and Wake Electric employees will continue to closely monitor the storm,” Angela Perez, director of communications and public relations for the cooperative, said Monday.
The cooperative that serves the east side of Wake Forest and a large part of northern Wake County as well as six other counties is prepared to repair outages caused by wind, saturated ground from rain and other causes.
If you have power you can see outages in real time at www.wemc.com on the live Outage Map.
The easiest and most efficient way to report an outage is through WEMC’s SmartHub app available for Android and iOS phones and tablets. You can also call 919.863.6499 or 800.743.3155. “Wake Electric’s top priority is serving our members and communities, and we will do everything we can to minimize disruption to service while keeping members informed and safe,” Perez said. “We urge everyone to prepare now by making a plan, assembling an emergency kit and following the instructions of local officials.”
