There is no denying that the home-building industry in Wake Forest is undergoing a boom not seen in recent years, a boom that could overcome this winter’s slump with all the rain if it continues.
Builders pulled permits for 75 single-family homes and 10 townhouses in February as well as two new commercial buildings, the shell for the Heartland Dental at 13700 Capital Boulevard and the whole of the Kiddie Academy Daycare at 945 Gateway Commons Circle.
Johnson Hyundai Wake Forest has found a home at 11000 Capital Boulevard, the triangle at the highway and South Main Street where Carlton Chappell chose to relocate his Ford dealership years ago when most car dealerships remained in downtowns. Also, the other approved fit-up was for Highpark Nail Spa at 408 South White Street. Inspectors also approved the pre-occupancy inspections for The Ironpeddlers at 2820 Superior Drive and Capstone Benefits Group Inc. at 620 Dr. Calvin Jones Highway (the NC 98 Bypass), Suite 200.
For the 10 townhouses, Capitol City Homes pulled two permits for homes at 1047 and 1049 North Main Street, the first of the 100 townhouses on North Main; and Lennar Carolinas pulled eight permits for homes on Daisy Meadow Lane in Traditions. The two builders paid $17,121 in fees for homes that will add $1,473,138 to the tax base.
