Town pleads for ETJ resident to apply for the planning board

The Town of Wake Forest is inviting residents who live in Wake Forest’s extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) to apply for a single vacancy on the Planning Board through Friday, Sept. 15.

Wake Forest has been attempting to fill the ETJ Planning Board vacancy since June. During that time, several people have applied that do not reside in the Town’s ETJ. In response, Wake Forest created an online “ETJ Address Look Up” that makes it easy for residents to determine whether they live in the Town’s ETJ.

Both the ETJ Address Look Up and the online advisory board application are available on the Town website at http://bit.ly/TOWFAdvBoardApplication. Anyone without computer access is invited to access them by using a computer kiosk in the lobby of Town Hall, 301 S. Brooks St. Hard copies of the advisory board application are available upon request by contacting Deputy Town Clerk Ella Dowtin at 919-435-9436 or edowtin@wakeforestnc.gov.

Planning Board candidates will be introduced to the Board of Commissioners during its regular meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 19. The BOC will also announce its appointment to the Planning Board during this meeting, and the new term will commence immediately.
