During September the Wake Forest Inspections Department approved permits for 38 single-family homes, 10 townhouses and two commercial permits for a Char-Grill at 13600 Capital Boulevard and a fuel station at the Harris-Teeter at 3660 Rogers Road.
The Char-Grill will be built by Dalton General Contractors with 3,090 square feet and an improvement value of $625,000. Dalton paid $8,258.21 in fees. The fuel station will be built by Bunn-Brantley Enterprises, which paid $2,866.56 in fees for a structure with 240 square feet and an improvement value of $1,243,760.
The department also performed fit-up inspections for a Burgerim Restaurant at 11480 Capital Boulevard, a Which Wich restaurant at 2808 Rogers Road, Noire The Nail Bar at 11702 Retail Drive, a space in the Tarleton Business Park at 12339 Wake Union Church Road, and Giant Bike Store at 11216 Capital Boulevard.
DR Horton is building nine townhouses on Treetop Meadow Lane in Traditions, and Terramor Homes is building one townhouse at 555 Brunello Drive in the Siena Townhomes subdivision. Together the developers paid $15,245.25 in fees and the homes will add an estimated $1,340.000 to the town’s tax base.

The fees listed appear to only include building permit and inspection fees related to new construction. The builder also pays 2 impact fees. One for recreation facilities ($2,871 for a new home) and another for fire protection facilities ($337 for a new home). Combined, these add $3,208 to most of the numbers listed above in the individual examples for new home construction. Townhouse and commercial impact fees are calculated differently.
