Town offices closed for Veterans Day

The Wake Forest Town Hall and other administrative offices will be closed Friday, Nov. 11, in observance of the Veterans Day holiday.

Yard waste collection will be suspended Nov. 11, but police, garbage, recycling, and bulk pick-up services will not be interrupted. Wake Forest bus service, including the Wake Forest-Raleigh Express and the Wake Forest Loop, will also follow the normal schedule.

During the week of Nov. 7, the town will complete its normal five-day yard waste collection cycle in four days beginning with Monday’s route and ending with Friday’s route. So, for example, on Monday crews may run Monday’s route and a portion of Tuesday’s route, then on Tuesday finish Tuesday’s route and complete a portion of Wednesday’s route.

In order to ensure that all neighborhoods are serviced properly, residents are urged to leave their normal yard waste and loose leaves in separate piles at the curb by 7 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7. As always, please avoid placing items on or near mailboxes, utility boxes, utility poles or other fixed objects.

Wake Forest residents can track the progress of leaf collection crews by calling the Leaf Collection Hotline at 919-435-9582. The hotline is updated each weekday morning by 8 a.m. with information concerning where crews will be working that day.

Town offices will reopen and the normal yard waste collection schedule will resume Monday, Nov. 14, at 7 a.m.
