The Town of Wake Forest offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for individuals, families, businesses, churches and civic groups interested in contributing their time and talents towards serving the community. Local students interested in earning community service hours are also encouraged to explore the Town’s array of volunteer options.
Service opportunities range from participation in environmental efforts, including #KeepWFclean roadside cleanups, Adopt-A-Stream, Adopt-A-Trail and Tree Stewards, to Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources initiatives, such as Dream League Baseball Buddies and youth league coaches.
Volunteers are also needed to perform a variety of roles during popular Town events, including Friday Night on White, Wake Forest Cares Holiday Kickoff, the annual paper shredding event, and Good Neighbor Day – just to name a few, while the Northern Community Food Security Team also coordinates several community service initiatives, including harvesting and gleaning, community gardens and more.
Finally, volunteers are needed to “roll out the red carpet” for guests attending shows and performances at the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre. “Supporting Cast” members may be needed to pass out programs, collect tickets, escort guests to their seats or even assist performers before they go on stage.
Details about all the Town’s volunteer opportunities, along with an online volunteer registration form, are provided on the Town website at http://bit.ly/WFVolunteerOpportunities. For more information, email Communications & Public Affairs Director Bill Crabtree at bcrabtree@wakeforestnc.gov.
