Three more chances to ‘picture Joyner Park’

What is your vision for E. Carroll Joyner Park? Do you want ball fields and a community building? Do you want more walking and biking trails? Or perhaps you want a large children’s playground.

You can make sure your voice is heard by attending one of the public meetings sponsored by the Wake Forest Recreation Advisory Board. There are only three left, and they are:

Thursday, May 15, 10 a.m.; Northern Wake Senior Center, 235 East Holding Avenue.

Saturday, May 17, 11 a.m.; Wake Forest Town Hall, 301 South Brooks Street.

Tuesday, May 20, 6:30 p.m.; Hope Lutheran Church, 3525 Rogers Road

‘Picture Joyner Park’ is the name given to the town’s approach to updating the Joyner Park Master Plan. There will be a brief presentation, followed by an open forum discussion where attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and share suggestions.

Discussions at these meetings will cover a variety of topics centered on how to best achieve the appropriate balance between maintaining Joyner Park’s natural charm and adding desired amenities. Information gathered during the sessions will help identify, develop and evaluate future versions of the Joyner Park Master Plan.

Anyone who is unable to attend one of the meetings is encouraged to share their comments online at www.wakeforestnc.gov/Picture-Joyner-Park.aspx.

The Town of Wake Forest opened Joyner Park Phase I in August 2009. Located at 701 Harris Road, the 117-acre park is one of our area’s most popular outdoor destinations featuring three miles of paved walking trails, a 1,000-lawn-seat amphitheater and performance garden.
