Raleigh spent a lot of money and time in creating the Horseshoe Farm Nature Park, which is off Ligon Mill Road very close to NC 401. Now there is a request to rezone land along NC 401 and very close to the nature park and greenway for a four-story, 375 apartment units. It has already been approved by the planning commission and next goes to the Raleigh City Council.

If you have enjoyed that park or if you would be distressed by that kind of development within walking distance of the park, you might call some city council members and express your opinion.
