The popular beach band, The Catalinas, will headline the final Rockin’ the Forest concert of 2019 on Friday, March 15. The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre for the Arts, 405 South Brooks Street.
The Catalinas were inducted into the Beach Music Hall of Fame in 1995, followed by the NC Music Hall of Fame in 2013. Best known for their classic hit, “Summertime’s Callin’ Me,” The Catalinas spotlight their musical roots by performing music by groups such as Hank Ballard and the Midnighters, Jackie Wilson, Marvin Gay, Huey Smith, The Falcons, The Del Vikings, The Gladiolas, Ray Charles and more.
Advance tickets are $10 each plus tax and selling fast. Assembling some of the top musical acts in our area, the Rockin’ the Forest music series features a variety of popular beach music and cover bands that play rock and roll covers from classic to modern rock, with a little funk and original music thrown in.
Designed to offer local audiences first rate performances that previously required area residents to travel to Raleigh, Chapel Hill or Durham, Rockin’ the Forest takes place in downtown Wake Forest inside the intimate comfort of the Renaissance Centre.
Each Rockin’ the Forest concert also includes a cash bar serving beer and wine.
