Special needs resource fair April 1

The Wake Forest Parks; Recreation and Cultural Resources Department will sponsor a free Special Needs Resource Fair on Saturday; April 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Richland Creek Community Church, 3229 Burlington Mills Road.

The event will include over 30 professional vendors that specialize in providing to children and adults with special needs an array of services; including therapeutic, health and wellness, educational, recreational, music, financial and legal. The fair is designed to offer local families the opportunity to learn about dozens of programs, services, products and resources – all in one location.

Local businesses and non-profits scheduled to participate include Allied Rehab; Brain Balance Achievement Center of Raleigh; Easter Seals UCP NC and VA; Pediatric Therapy Associates; East Point Prosthetics & Orthotics; Doterra International; Advocates for Inclusive Education (AFIE); Wake County Public School System Family and Community Connections; AXA Advisors; Alliance Behavioral Healthcare; The ARC of the Triangle; GiGi’s Playhouse; Hope Services, LLC; A Small Miracle, LLC; Wake County Chapter Autism Society of NC; YMCA of the Triangle (A.E. Finley YMCA); The Miracle League of the Triangle; Wake Forest Renaissance Center for the Performing Arts; 7CutzAbove, Inc; and Miracles in Motion, Inc.

The fair will also feature interactive opportunities with the Wake Forest Police and Fire Departments and Wake County EMS. Plus, a variety of demonstrations will be offered, such as soccer, cheerleading and Fun with Fitness, including Taekwondo at 10:15 and 11:45 a.m.; Yoga at 10:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.; and Zumba at 11:15 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.

The event is co-sponsored with Richland Creek Community Church.
