The special Holiday Market is Saturday

The Holiday Wake Forest Farmers Market will be this Saturday, Dec. 6, with local artists and craftsmen joining the regular farmers and vendors in Renaissance Plaza from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

You will find gifts and special items – pottery, wood objects, dolls, encaustic work, soaps, lotions, jewelry, knitted goods, candy, paintings, bonnets, aprons and more in addition to all the usual fare.

Renaissance Plaza is in front of the Brooks Street Bowl at the intersection of East Elm Avenue and Brooks Street. There is plenty of parking.

Along with the special items, you will also find the meats – beef, chicken, duck, lamb, pork, goat, rabbit and turkey – and the seasonal produce – several varieties of greens, fall squash, herbs, potatoes, collards – as well as fresh eggs, local honey, baked goods and gluten-free baked goods, jams and perennial plants.

There will be no market Saturday, Dec. 13, because that is the day of the Wake Forest Christmas Parade that begins at 1 p.m. The parade lineup includes the plaza and the streets around it, and the parade ends and disbands at the plaza.

After that, the farmers market will return to Saturday markets with winter hours, 10 a.m. to noon, through March.

See the market on Facebook, take a look at all the vendors and their wares as well as special events at www.wakeforestfarmersmarket.org or call 919-671-9269 if you need information.
