One of Wake Forest’s most treasured community traditions, Six Sundays in Spring, had to be cancelled in 2020 and 2021 because of COVID-19. But this fall the Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department and ARTS Wake Forest plan an autumn edition of the event in the Amphitheater at E. Carroll Park, 701 Harris Road, on Sunday, Sept. 5, with Sensory Expressions as the music.
This free, live, outdoor entertainment – rain or shine – will feature a variety of local and regional performers.
In addition to Sensory Expressions, other acts scheduled to perform include The Magnificent’s Band on September 12; Orchesta K’che on September 19; Revolution Beatles Tribute Band on September 26; Tea Cup Gin on October 3; and Chatham Rabbit on October 10. No food or refreshment vendors will be on site during this year’s Six Sundays in Fall concert series, so attendees are encouraged to pack a picnic and enjoy the music. Concert goers are reminded that alcoholic beverages and unleashed pets are prohibited. In addition, gas and charcoal grills are not allowed, but two large charcoal grills are provided on site.
Before the September 5 concert, the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Advisory Board will provide an array of self-directed games and activities as part of Wake Forest Unplugged…Get Connected. This free, family-friendly event offers residents a unique opportunity to “disconnect” from their cell phones, computers and other electronic devices and “reconnect” with their community, friends and family by engaging in healthier, more active pursuits.
