The Sanford Creek Elementary School PTA will sponsor their Spring Fever Shopping Extravaganza Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The school is at 701 Granite Falls Boulevard in Rolesville.
Local crafters, vendors and artisans will be selling their wares, and the proceeds from the event will go to support social programs at the school for students in need.
The largest project is the Giving Tree Service Learning Project, which provides about 20 Thanksgiving baskets and the Giving Tree which provides needed holiday items for all of our Backpack Buddy families plus some others who request assistance. Gina Haines, the school counselor says she always needs weather appropriate clothing, undergarments and shoes for students who find themselves in need throughout the year.
Also, Haines said, although North East Wake Backpack Buddy program serves 35 students at our school with bags of food for the weekend, about half of these students are left with no snack during the week. Through monetary and food donations, I would like to be able to fill that gap for those students during the school day.
So go shop and help the school and its staff and PTA fill real needs.
