Sam’s Club is hiring

Sam’s Club in Wake Forest will open this summer but the company has begun hiring about 175 people to staff the membership-only retail warehouse business now under construction on Royal Cotton Road, a formerly unnamed street which runs parallel to Capital Boulevard between Caveness Farms Avenue and the internal driveways for Wal-mart and its next-door strip mall.

The hiring and membership center hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday at 11480 Capital Boulevard, suites 125 and 135, in the commercial building at the intersection of Caveness Farms Avenue and Royal Cotton Road. The open positions include membership sales, bakery (including cake decorators), receiving (both day and overnight positions), cashiers and electronics associates.

People can also visit the center to learn how to join Sam’s Club. There are special deals before the grand opening that include a gift card for up to $25 for new members. New business members who sign up for a $100 Plus membership will be charged only $45. Individual memberships range from $45 to $100 per year.

Sam’s cannot get a certificate of occupancy to open the store until the road improvements on Capital Boulevard, including two synchronized traffic signals, are complete.

Sam’s Club is the nation’s eighth largest retailer.
