Pellet-gun vandal sought

The Wake Forest Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying and locating whoever is responsible for shooting the windows of several vehicles with a BB or pellet gun.

Since Friday, March 6, the police department has fielded a number of reports of vandalism to vehicles parked on or near the road. In each incident, one or more windows of the vehicle have been shot out by a BB or pellet gun. No items have been stolen from inside the vehicles and no injuries have been reported.

Investigators believe the same person is responsible in each incident.

Officials are encouraging area residents to pay attention to suspicious people and vehicles in their neighborhoods and call the Wake Forest Police Department if they witness anything unusual.

Wake Forest Police are also asking residents to follow a few simple steps to avoid becoming a victim of vandalism:

  • If available, park in your garage, carport or driveway
  • If parking on the street, park in a well-lit area
  • Immediately call 919-556-9111 if you hear or witness suspicious activity

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Police Department Tip Line at 919-435-9610. All calls are confidential.
