David E. Morton

David E. Morton, 78, of Raleigh passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015, at his residence. He was born in Franklin County, the son of the late Susie Peace Morton and Duncan Morton. David loved music and played the sax in the Congregation Band for over 30 years. They always enjoyed playing at VFW posts and different military bases.

Graveside funeral services were held at 11 o’clock Tuesday morning, November 10, 2015, at the Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton.

David is survived by his wife, Shirley Timberlake Morton; a daughter, Michele Lee Morton; and a son, David Rodney Morton, all of Raleigh.

Orlando Nigro

Raleigh

Orlando Nigro, formerly of Orange, New Jersey, died peacefully in Raleigh at the age of 90 on Thursday, November 5, 2015. He was born in Orange, New Jersey, son of the late Palma Pinto Nigro and Antonino Nigro, and was a man of faith who loved his family, food, football and fishing.

Graveside funeral services were held at 10 o’clock Monday morning, November 9, 2015, at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens in Wake Forest with the Rev. David Nigro and the Rev. Mark Nigro officiating.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Concetta Tarantino Nigro; his five children, Cynthia (Robert) Jones, Lisa Cryan, Bonnie Timan, David (Nancy) Nigro, and Mark (Renata) Nigro. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Haley Onofrio Serrano, 21, of Wake Forest died peacefully on November 2nd, 2015. Haley was born on February 7, 1994, in Raleigh. Haley loved the ocean and her goal was to become a marine ecologist one day. Her laughter and smile were infectious to all that knew her. She was a very talented artist who loved to draw animation. She was loved very much and will be missed by so very many.

Funeral services were held at 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon, November 8, 2015, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home.

Haley is survived by her mother and step-father, Laura and Steve Wilt; her father, Jay Serrano; step-mother Yoshiko Serrano; siblings, Courtney, Maika, and Kyla; grandparents, aunts and uncles, and many cousins.

Timothy Nicklous “TimTim” Vestal, 27, of Garner died Monday, November 2, 2015.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, November 6, 2015, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Mills officiating. Burial was in Wake Forest Cemetery.

TimTim is survived by his son, Rowan Vestal; his parents, Traci and Troy Vestal; sister, Lindsey Vestal; brother, Matheau Vestal; grandparents, Ruline Colin O’Neill, Janice O’Neill, Jim Vestal, and Sheila Vestal; nieces, Madison Faison and Zoey Vestal; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Ivan Proctor “I.P.” Barham, 82, of Wake Forest passed away Monday, November 9, 2015, at Transitions Life Care Hospice in Raleigh. He was born in Wake County, the son of the late Louise Bartholomew Barham and Linwood W. Barham, and retired from Bell South in 1987 after 37 years of service.

Funeral services were held at 11 o’clock Wednesday morning November 11, 2015, at Falls Baptist Church with the Rev. Duncan Futrell and the Rev. Gary Vassar officiating. Burial was in the Falls Community Cemetery.

Mr. Barham is survived by his wife, Betty Joan Holmes Barham, whom he married on December 7, 1952 and they would have been married 63 years this year; sons, Donnie Barham and wife, Bonnie, of Semora, Steve Barham and wife, Tina, of Louisburg and Paul Barham and wife, Mindy, of Wake Forest; brothers, Haywood Barham and wife, Betty, and Linwood Barham and wife, Barbara, all of Wake Forest; a sister, Clara Barham Horton and husband, Wilson, of Wake Forest; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Ora Hart Cash, 90, of Louisburg passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015, at Transitions Life Care in Raleigh. She was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Lula Frazier Hart and William Columbus Hart, and was a member of Flat Rock Baptist church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Johnson Cash Sr.; brothers, William C. Hart and Ben Hart; and sisters, Sally Brady and Bessie Cash.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, November 10, 2015, at Flat Rock Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary McNair officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Cash is survived by her daughters, Alice Murphy of Youngsville and Linda Faulkner (Billy) of Louisburg; sons, Jimmy Cash and Herbert J. Cash Jr., both of Louisburg; grandchildren, Christopher T. Murphy (Tracey), Brian Murphy (Christie), Matt Faulkner (Hettie), Melissa Lynch (Jim), Joshua Cash, Rachel Cash, and their mother, Donna Cash; and four great-grandchildren.

Louis Douglas Yeager

July 3, 1953 – November 8, 2015

Louis Douglas Yeager passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015, in his home, completing his earthly journey as he wanted: independent, proud, stubborn and never wanting to be a burden to others. He loved spending time with his children and spoiling them much to their mother’s dismay.

Louie was predeceased by his parents, Louis George and Jimmy Perry Yeager. He is survived by his daughter, Jimmie LeeAnn;  son, Andrew Luke;  sister, Linda Keir (Randy); nephews Joshua Kier and Samuel Keir (Nicole); great-niece, Jimmie Pepper; and former wife, Terri Grandy Mainey (John).

Louie was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, graduating from Alamo Heights High School in 1972 where he was selected as a 1971 all-state offensive football player. He went on to play football for Stephen F. Austin State University. He graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 1976 with a degree in criminal justice.

Louie joined the Arlington City Police after college graduation. He was hired as an agent with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission in 1979, working until 1997 when he retired due to injuries caused in the line of duty.

Louie moved to North Carolina in 2004 to be nearer to his children. He was a faithful member of Faith Baptist church in Youngsville and will be dearly missed by all of his friends and family.

Family visitation will be Friday, November 13, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton, Texas. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015. There will be a memorial service held at Faith Baptist Church in Youngsville at a later date.
